About Cosmetic Ear Surgery
Ears that appear to stick outward and protrude, are asymmetrical or misshapen, are noticeably too large, or earlobes that have been torn can have a negative impact on your self-esteem, especially as a child. Ear reshaping surgery (also known as otoplasty) is a cosmetic procedure that helps to redefine the size and shape of the ears and form a pleasing appearance. Dr. Fara Movagharnia is a board-certified plastic surgeon in Atlanta, GA who has helped many adults and children move past the fear of exposing their ears by having this surgery. No matter the deformity, otoplasty at the Center for Cosmetic & Reconstructive Surgery allows a patient to proudly show their face at any angle with self-assurance.
Ear surgery can be performed at any age; however, it is extremely common among children and is recommended before reaching elementary school. By six years of age, this cosmetic surgery is safe and effective to be completed on a child. If you are frustrated by the appearance of your ears because they are misshapen or protrude outward, otoplasty may be the ideal surgery to help you attain a normal appearance. Sufferers of a damaged earlobe, you may also be a candidate for cosmetic ear surgery.
"Bbl redo lipo - Amazing work I love my new body thank you"- Anonymous / Vitals / Apr 17, 2019
"From my very first consultation, I knew that I was in the best hands - I just wanted to take this time out to express how overwhelmingly happy I am with my Tummy Tuck results. The process of finding Dr. Movagharnia Fara who is a BOARD CERTIFIED PLASTIC SURGEON with over 20 plus years of experience was very easy. I was referred to him by my best friend who has had a few procedures with Dr. Fara, and her resluts and overall experience were AMAZING! From my very first consultation, I knew that I was in the best hands. I expressed to Dr. Fara how unhappy I had been for years with the excess skin and fat on my stomach. He assessed my concerns and assured me that he would be able to give me a flatter tummy. He was very thorough with the details of the surgery and was able to answer every question and concerned that I had with very honest responses. I knew immediately after my consultation that this was the Dr. I wanted to move forward with. He gave me very precise instructions to prepare for my Tummytuck and 2 months later on November 21, 2022, my life changed forever. I am now 4 weeks post-op and I am so HAPPY with my results. I feel very blessed that I chose Dr. Fara and I look forward to the positive progression that I will have through out my healing process. Thank You Dr, FARA!!!! You are the ABSOLUTE BEST PLASTIC SURGEON EVER.......God Bless you, and your AMAZING STAFF, Mrs. JUDY and Mrs. FARA.Sincerely,Lynese Doukoure"- A. / RealSelf / Dec 23, 2022

Cosmetic ear surgery is performed using a form of anesthesia. In most cases, the incision is placed near the back of the ear or within the inner ear folds. During this procedure, cartilage may be removed or added to create a more natural appearance. It is common for each ear to be addressed during treatment to make sure they appear balanced. Once the ears are surgically corrected, the incisions are closed with sutures and are bandaged so they can remain protected. An earlobe repair procedure is generally less extensive, with only local anesthesia typically required. This treatment will involve the suturing back together of the torn areas, and the specific techniques will vary based on the severity of the wound.
What to Expect
Once treatment has finished and you are released to leave the hospital, you will rest and recover at home. Dr. Movagharnia or a member of his team will give recovery instructions. It's very important for your child or you not to touch or scratch the ears. Furthermore, your child or you should not lie down on the ears, rather sleeping in an upright position for the first several days. Dr. Movagharnia will ask to see his otoplasty patients back within the first week — at this time, Dr. Movagharnia will remove the bandages and see you or your child's surgical results. The outcomes are noticeable right away, and the progression of results will continue to improve as the ears heal.
Reshape Your Ears
Although the ears are not very big, an abnormal shape, size, or position may make a huge difference to your child or you. Ear surgery (otoplasty) may help your child avoid getting teased by classmates or help you if you feel uncomfortable about your ears.
